Vinyl kopen: wat betekenen de afkortingen?
Een M-cover en een record in de VG-toestand? Bij het kopen van vinyl kom je altijd diffuse afkortingen tegen. We laten u zien wat er achter de afkortingen schuilgaat.
Echt kwaliteitssymbool: de afkortingen voor gebruikte vinylplaten
Of het nu op Ebay, Amazon of in de platenwinkel om de hoek is. Met gebruikte records kunt u snelkoppelingen niet vermijden. De meeste hiervan beschrijven de staat van het vinyl en de hoes:
- SS (Still Sealed): deze afkorting staat voor een nieuwe en nog steeds gelaste plaat.
- M (Mint): het vinyl is nieuw en ongespeeld. De hoes vertoont ook geen gebruikssporen.
- NM (Near Mint): het vinyl werd zeer zelden gespeeld. Het heeft dus nog geen geluidskwaliteit verloren. Het volgende is van toepassing op de omslag: Geen zichtbare gebruikssporen en er is niet op geschreven of geplakt.
- VG + (Very Good +): het record vertoont geen significant kwaliteitsverlies. Met andere woorden, het vinyl kan kleine krassen bevatten en er kan een lichte ruis zijn. De hoes heeft kleine scheurtjes of slijtage, maar is nog in goede staat.
- VG / EX (Zeer goed / uitstekend): het vinyl werd vaker gespeeld en vertoont kwaliteitsverlies zoals regelmatig geluid of krassen. Het etiket en de hoes bevinden zich in goede staat, maar kunnen tekenen van slijtage vertonen.
- VG- (Very Good -): vaak afgespeelde plaat met middelmatige geluidskwaliteit. De hoes is gescheurd, gelabeld of licht vuil.
- G (Goed): het vinyl heeft veel kwaliteit verloren. Op sommige plaatsen kunnen vervorming of grote krassen optreden. Het label en de kap zijn ernstig beschadigd of vuil. Ze kunnen ook worden gelabeld.
- F / P (redelijk / slecht): de plaat kan alleen worden afgespeeld, maar met een zeer slechte geluidskwaliteit. De hoes is zwaar beschadigd of zelfs gescheurd.
- Let op: de hoes wordt meestal los van de plaat bekeken: met NM vinyl met een M-hoes is de plaat al afgespeeld, maar de hoes vertoont geen gebruikssporen.
Andere afkortingen: informatie over de recorddruk
Bij vinyl zijn er niet alleen afkortingen voor de staat van de plaat. Veel verkopers geven ook informatie over de pers of het type omslag. U vindt er ook veel van op nieuwe records.
- OG (origineel): de plaat is een eerste editie of een originele pers.
- REISSUE (heruitgave): het record is een gelicentieerde heruitgave van het eigenlijke werk.
- PROMO (promotie): dit is een promotierecord. Deze werden meestal verspreid door DJ's of radiostations voor reclamedoeleinden.
- PC (Picturecover): het record bevat de bijbehorende originele omslag in kleur.
- LC (gatenkap): de klep bevat een "gat" in het midden. Deze records komen meestal van de oude machines.
- WOC (Writing on Cover): de hoes is gelabeld of geplakt door de koper. De meeste hiervan zijn namen of archiefnummers die niet meer kunnen worden verwijderd.
- CO (Cut-Out): de afdekking is in een hoek afgesneden of heeft een klein gaatje. Meestal zijn het weigeringen of geïmporteerde goederen.
